A special local licence is required to fish for sea trout in the Erne Estuary. This licence must be purchased in addition to any other salmon and sea trout licence already held.

This licence is only for the Erne Estuary and no tags are issued as the fishery is Closed for all salmon and sea trout over 40cm.

There is an angling bag limit of three sea trout (under 40cm) per angler per day.
